Today, Ambassador Higgins visited @WezaPower in Bujumbura to see firsthand how this American company is helping power #Burundi's future — working to expand electricity access from 12% to 70% of the population nationwide. 🔴During the visit, Ambassador Higgins toured the facilities, met with the Weza team, and spoke with local journalists to underscore U.S. Government support—which in the case of Weza included a $3.1 million U.S. government grant for a pilot project—for American businesses investing in Burundi. 📌Weza plans to raise $1.4 billion in private sector investment to create 2,000 jobs, launch a new training center for young professionals, and bring reliable energy to rural communities — opening doors for businesses, schools, and families to thrive. 💡American companies like Weza Power are driving innovation, creating opportunity, and contributing to sustainable growth across Burundi.
