@MamaCAllen Feels like someone formed more by the culture than the doctrine. Clear on the donโts. Less anchored in the why. The atonement gets quieter. Other things get louder.

@FiredUpCoug Ugh people are so awful to snakes. Iโm so glad your daughters didnโt see what they did ๐

My girls were thrilled to find a small garter snake in our yard today.
They thought it was cute. I explained that garter snakes are harmless, and that they help keep bugs and rodents under control. For a few minutes, this tiny creature turned into a little moment of wonder for them.
A couple hours later, a golf cart full of young men drove past our yard on the course we live on.
One of them yelled, โLook, a snake!โ
The driver shouted, โIโll get it!โ and swerved the cart to run it over.
Then he backed up and ran it over again. And again. His friends laughed.
It all happened too fast for me to stop it. After they drove away, I went over, gathered the broken body of the little snake, and hid it in the rough so my daughters wouldnโt see it.
I know it was โjust a snake.โ But I felt sick.
Something that had filled my girls with curiosity and wonder was killed for a moment of amusement.
And I canโt stop thinking about how much better the world would be if more people learned to protect small, harmless things instead of finding joy in destroying them.

@moroni_memer Iโm usually the only one not drinking as like the only person my age in the church in my area for miiiles ๐ tbh youโre probably overthinking it. People donโt care that much they just donโt want to feel judged or that you think youโre better than them.

27 years ago today, 12 students and one teacher went to school and never came home. They were shot and killed at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. 21 others were injured.
Since this tragic day, our country has continued to be plagued by gun violence that rips our families apart. Iโll always fight for a safer future, in honor of the Littleton community and every victim and survivor of gun violence.
