Spent a lot of time in DC over 15 years…. Lots of meetings and conferences. Not one single time did I hear: “damn, sure wish we had a gawdy new ballroom.”

The US government already has a ballroom just down the street. The Andrew Mellon Auditorium is less than a mile away from the White House is beautiful and accommodates more people than the new ballroom will and is owned by the U.S. Government. via Shelia Earl

I enjoy fresh eggs; a local family has a classic wagon parked near a road - their “store.” Honor system, eggs in the wagon; drop box for money; and eggs not stolen, and neither the cash: Try that in Portland . No need to mock folks who choose peace and honorable neighbors.
