Wow. The truth about whether Epstein killed himself might be right here in this newly released file. justice.gov/epstein/files/…

@JonesHowDareYou We had “The Games” before, and Roy & HG during. Difficult to pick a fave.

@thomashawk Love the look of these (very familiar) old slides. However, loss of highlight detail in Ektachrome’s slight overexposure is worse than Kodachrome’s lack of shadow detail in correct exposure.
The dynamic range in a modern DSLR is staggering.

@cathywilcox1 Who is Canberra’s Nancy Mace, and have they told you which bathroom to use?
English

@vanOnselenP I have faith in Walls. And Walz. It will hold.
English

@Peter_Fitz It’ll be a solid Harris win. Of course, it might be the case that my social media bubble is so narrow it could fit through the eye of a needle.
English

@AntonEnus @MikeCarlton01 @SBSNews Ah yes, the competition for the favourite artist who most crushingly disappoints with political views. Eric Clapton anti-vax. Oh my heart.
English

@MikeCarlton01 @SBSNews Oh dear, didn’t know that. I recently read the new Gail Jones novel, Salonika Burning, in which Miles Franklin appears in similar vein.
English

What am I listening to on my Friday night drive home from the @SBSNews studios?
Some serious wartime nostalgia tonight. Earlier this week I sat in a beautiful garden with my almost-94-yo mum and shared a moment listening to this grand old dame. Special times…

@Peter_Fitz Yes, most major issue. And leading to Harris victory.
But there’s always this possibility: Trump delays selection of electors passed the deadline, and they’re not counted. So Trump becomes president with fewer than 270 electoral college votes.
What a wacky system.
English

Shapiro should also help them hold there.
My major hope for the Americans, beyond sanity, is that women will turn out in force and vote for their reproductive rights. Every election since Roe V Wade was overturned that has been a significant factor, and should count this time.

@Peter_Fitz PA won’t be close. Fetterman won by 5% 2 years ago- and he’d just had a stroke.

@SquigglyRick All the letters you need are already on the keyboard. Just arrange them in some sort of order.
English

@workingdogprod @Wil_Anderson Working Dog’s legacy is in our influenced language. Where are the replies quoting lines?
“I’m not touching that one!”
English

@Peter_Fitz With upset grammar pedants, just pat them on the back and say, “There, they’re, their.”
English

@timminchin @restisents @richardosman Milly Alcock was amazing in Upright. There was some other bloke she travelled with, he’s ok too.
English

Richard and Marina having a VERY sensible discussion on @restisents a few weeks ago, proving @richardosman has impeccable taste.

@qikipedia And the 1956 Melbourne equestrian events were held where?
English

@simongerman600 @GrogsGamut So, extrapolating this graph, screens will be bigger than the phone itself. Graphs are fantastic aren’t they!
English

You knew this but know you've seen it as a chart. Your phone got bigger and the screen now covers the whole front of the phone. Source: buff.ly/4cJzDHn

@Theblackfemini3 @lisareality1 I tell scammers calling my work phone, “It’s a policy of this company to not accept unsolicited phone calls!” Never has anyone asked how did I get any customers at all.
English

I once kept an "ATO" agent on the phone for over 2 hours while I begged him to not issue a warrant for my arrest and send the sheriff to my house.
Apparently I owed over $7000 in tax but he was kind enough to reduce it to $2500 if I went immediately to a bitcoin ATM 3 hours away in Sydney to deposit the money.
I was doing housework and had time to stay on the phone lol and while I had him on the phone, he wasn't scamming an oldie.
They're not real bright, I mean who stays on the phone that long with a crying hysterical woman using the vacuum cleaner 😂

I had a phone conversation today with a very nice young chap from Pakistan. This is how it went:
"Hello, how are you today?"
"I'm very well thank you for asking, how are you and more to the point, WHO are you?"
"Madam, my name is Sanjit, and I'm calling you from Microsoft.”
"Microsoft, is that a city in Pakistan?”
" No Madam, MICROSOFT, the computer company. I'm calling to tell you that we have found a problem with your computer.”
"REALLY, that's quite concerning.”
"Yes Madam, it can become very serious indeed but thankfully I will be able to fix it for you.”
"No, I meant it's very concerning because I don't HAVE a computer.”
“You don't?"
“No.”
"Ahh, it must be a problem on your laptop Madam.”
"Don't have one.”
"Ipad?"
"Nope.”
"Tablet?"
"I have none of those things. As a matter of fact, I don't even have a telephone.”
After a few seconds of silence he said "Madam, you are lying to me now!"
I said "Well, you started it!!" and put the phone down.
English

@KathyLette Oh yes, a fave lines thread: “I present to you this laurel, and hardy handshake!”
English

Not-so-young-Frankenstein. Can’t believe we’re celebrating the 98th b’day of the brilliant Mel Brooks. The iconic comic has given us so many great quips & quotes. My fave? “If I cut my finger, that’s tragedy. Comedy is if you walk into an open sewer & die.” 🎉🎂#MelBrooks
