Looking forward to this. Still kicking myself for not picking up a 27-07, I loved the rye-calvados blend. This one adds Armagnac to the blend. Cross-category blends have always fascinated me, second only to cross-border blends within a category. Will this be what I want?

@d_tao Value wise, hard to beat. But I found it thin…maybe I need to taste it again. Worked great in a boulevardier though.

Seven year, bottled-in-bond rye. $30-ish for a 700ml bottle. Delicious stuff. Is there a better deal in whiskey right now?

@TaylorCope1982 Taste then write. I like to be able to explore why some tasting notes come up (or any number of other variables) and I can’t do that if I write first. Plus then I have taste biases.

For those of you who write whiskey reviews: do you typically compose the review first and then taste the whiskey, or taste first then write? I'm like 90% the former, 10% the latter. How about you?
