Here's how it was: 🌋 December 22, 2020 — The SEC filed a lawsuit against Ripple and its management. The charge: illegal sale of XRP for $1.3 billion. New ETH price forecast. Standard Chartered experts set a target for Ethereum by the end of 2025 at $4,000. If this seems optimistic to you, they actually lowered their forecast significantly. #Ethereum is losing its power. At one point in June 2017, it held 25-30% of the overall crypto market share, just behind Bitcoin. In 2022-2024, it held around 15-18% of the market. 🧐 What is liquidation? Why so many traders face it nowadays? 🥷 Oh... let me explain... Liquidation happens when a leveraged position’s (one that is opened using borrowed funds) collateral can’t cover its losses, causing the exchange to close the position automatically. Example: if a trader puts up 1 ETH as collateral and uses 10x leverage, a 10% drop in price can wipe out the position. High leverage plus sharp market swings often leads to forced liquidations. 🥷 A cautionary tale. This weekend, Argentine President #JavierMilei tweeted a contract for a meme coin called $LIBRA. Of course, it attracted attention and investment. The token grew to a market cap of $4.59 billion 🌋 It turned out that his account had been hacked (which was obvious to many). As a result, the token's market cap fell by 96% from its peak. Moral of the story: be careful when investing in Twitter shitcoins 🤌
