Over the years, I have built relationships with strong and powerful people in business, diplomacy, and politics. They have been very helpful in mentoring and nurturing my young career. Some have become friends and family. The best trick is to delay asking for anything from them. Be yourself, be professional, and solve your problem, even though they can easily fix them for you.
