@Farmer_Tom_UK Switch the doom and gloom off, switch off social media. You cant blame anyone else for the position your in. We all live 1 life. Yes the gov is ridiculous but build your life not to be at the mercy of them.

I used to have the confidence to invest; now I don’t. The sole difference is government (not climate, world markets, Brexit, AOB). If this is what is published on official channels, why are we not dumping this gov and asking for a new one?

Partnership between government and industry has never been more important. At the @Foodanddrinkfed Summit I announced the Food Inflation Gateway, and spoke about my determination to work hand-in-hand with business to strengthen resilience ⬇️

Not sure what i expected from the no fence collars but fair impressed. Had them in a lane way and used the virtual fence to move them along it. Photos don't do it justice but it's kept them in! Changes temperament which I'm not comfortable with but will see how it settles down.

@EdinvaleFarm Do you think with a lack of grass at that time you get much extra growth being early to worry about finishing dates?

@WhitriggsStuart Up to a point. Can't go too late as starts to interfere with other things and also need to think about when they are going to finish. We have an opportunity to move later though as we have tightened up calving a fair bit over the years

Good day for measuring the docken crop! Rain this week has given a get out of jail boost here. The good weather so far has meant that I have kicked the erse out of the grazing so grass is trying to play catch up. Have made the decision to put the bulls out a bit later this year!

What a glprious week it is for doing some drainage and installing an extra water tank. Awesome place we live. The spring sun fairly lifts the mood. 🌞🌞🌞

@herdyshepherd1 I see what your try to get at here but going off people's photos never tells the actual story behind them. I worked out whether we could do without bales. And it is possible but for us less profitable and less diversity of incomes from the farm.

I’m sure some regen bale grazing is just made up work… the cows seem to be in fields with way more grass than ours At modest stocking densities with good grazing planning and daily movement I reckon we don’t need it

@herdyshepherd1 When does hay get old? We have stuff atleast 15 year old. Still good for if and when it's needed.

We’ve found that having a hay reserve becomes a trap It gets old after 1-2 years and then you have to use it So we’ve had a small group of cattle eating old bales for the last month or so - just to get it eaten And we don’t need it Going to eliminate the hay reserve
