Yes, that’s what I’m talking about. Years ago people would go through college and wrestle 1 cycle at age 22-27. Other countries world team members were 18-21 and winning medals. Currently we have a lot of younger athletes that can medal at the sr world championships compared to years ago.

@KozakJon @GlobalWresOrder What is Green even talking about. Those 18/19 year olds are wrestling WAY more freestyle than their peers were 15 years ago. Yet again proving that folkstyle doesn’t help us in any substantial way

Usa wrestling is in such a good space!Since college wrestling is tied to folkstyle we have “appeared” to be behind the rest of world (Russia, Iran), but we’re finally producing 18/19 year old medal threats at the sr level in freestyle wrestling. It’s truly awesome to watch.

2026 US Open 74kg champ James Green is returning to Blacksburg, Virginia where he was a resident athlete of the Southeast RTC from 2020-22. Green will join the Hokie staff as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2026-27 season.

It was an honor and privilege to cover Nebraska with Greezy as an asst. He always went out of his way to say hi and chat with me while always being gracious with his time and his insight for interviews Truly, @WhoIsJamesG is a great person and friend, and I'll miss him in Lincoln

While I initially returned to Nebraska to train and compete throughout this quad leading up to the LA Olympics, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to join the coaching staff. It’s been a great experience coaching at my alma mater and being part of two historic seasons for the program. I could go on and on about my love for Nebraska, the coaches, and my teammates, but I’ll keep it brief. I want to share that I have stepped down as the assistant coach and will be leaving Lincoln. Nebraska will always be my second home. I promise to keep you all updated on my next move, but for now, I will continue to train here at Nebraska through the Summer and focus on making my 8th world team in June. #LivingTheDream -JG
