@bwags This “chore” is a feature of fandom. It’s not a bug unique to the Yankees. Across every sport fans of good teams have high expectations. This is just human psychology, and the difference between rooting for the favorite vs underdog.

People choose Mets fandom over Yankees fandom because being a Yankees fan is a chore. It has very little to do with class and much more to do with the fact that to be a Yankees fan you have to pretend to dislike the team’s performance while also acting better than everyone else
