We love the NHS, they said. NHS staff are heroes, they said. NHS forever, they said. All the whole quietly siphoning huge tranches of NHS care into US corporate hands. Please RT if you won’t stand for it. theguardian.com/society/2021/f…

This is the most difficult article I have ever written but it’s the most important. It’s a tribute to my father, who passed away recently with COVID-19. And it’s for my mother, who has been hospitalised with it theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

This is a deeply depressing decision - even for this Government. We are now a country which turns away vulnerable refugee children - putting them at grave risk of trafficking. The Tories must reverse this heartless, cruel decision.

The UK has turned its back on lone refugee children.⁣ @CPhilpOfficial has confirmed that the @ukhomeoffice will no longer offer sanctuary to lone children in EU camps who do not already have relatives in UK. ⁣ 1/4 independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-n…

What are our options to exit the UK pandemic? Compared to 2020, we have new tools (vaccines) and we have new challenges (mutation)? We also have a years worth of international experience to look at. So what’s the best way out?

Hundreds of vulnerable people are being held in prison-like conditions in the #Napier and #Penally barracks. People must urgently be moved to safe, decent accommodation. Lives are at stake. Call on your MP to ensure that these barracks are closed - action.helprefugees.org/page/74633/act…

Astonishing fact the UK has suffered more Covid deaths in 24 hours (1,041) than Australia has since the START OF THE PANDEMIC (909) What a monumental failure

Can you guess what happens when you provide homeless people with housing? ... ... ... You reduce crime, increase employment, improve health, and do not increasing reliance on social benefits. 80% of costs are offset by the benefits in the first 18mos. drive.google.com/file/d/1H9oD3z…

We keep being told that #teachers are NOT at increased risk - “they” said that about drs & nurses in the #firstwave. It simply does not add up that workers surrounded by children (esp teenagers) for many hours in crowded indoor spaces without #PPE are not at increased risk? 2/

As a heavy reader of journal articles, it's my duty to warn people away from sci-hub, a safe and convenient pirate website hosting academic research. Please avoid this incredibly valuable free resource by not searching for "where is sci-hub now"
