I was wrong about my previous thoughts, being that the rarity score doesn’t matter. It clearly means something to investors. Now we must ask ourselves: Price and sentiment going up: What were we doing right? Because it was working. Price and sentiment down: What’s gone wrong?

$UPEG What is rare is subjective to each person. But let’s get this clear, we keep saying “let the market decide” The market has already decided: The market did like the introduction of rarity scores. The market did not like the batch minting. The market was confused with the age scores, which were introduced to deter rarity farming. The market, as a result of the age score, took away significance from rares minted after a certain date (legit or not) The market did not want to mint new ones, because now a rare isn’t worth anything compared to the superior age score. The market completely halted p2p trading after both scores were removed. The market is now unsure of what is valuable. Before the fud, the market was obsessed with collecting these unicorns. The bad actors took away significance of the rares. All these things were done to try rectify the presence of the bad actors. The market has had a mixed opinion on everything. One thing the market knows is that the batch and duplicates take away value from the project, and all proposed solutions have been double edged sword. I agree with the fact that if the marketplace excluded these mints, rarity scores would mean something again. Ages scores will can coexist with rarity, without completely overshadowing them. People will be happy to mint fresh $upeg again because: Age score doesn’t mean everything (like it was trending towards). Rarity now means something again (because it isn’t being exploited). Rare batch and duplicates end up getting burnt. (Because they can’t make money upselling the rares). Market stabilises. I think based on how the price was surging, the market would appreciate a solution that took us back to fair trading conditions prior to these exploitations. No overcomplicated indexes, simple scores with the possibility of minting a new and valuable upeg. You can’t rectify the code, but you can edit the marketplace. What do you think @unipegv4 ???

This is the first project where the ONLY barrier to entry is the time you decide to buy, you may get priced out of owning a full token, but you will never be priced out of the project. I think the whole value of rares has not been on how the protocol chooses to define them (although that’s what we’ve been focusing on) The value has just diminished because of the fact someone can batch mint and get what they want. I think if we took away their main incentive, they would stop and the market would return to normal

Hey @unipegv4 Batch minters have really made us debate what we value as a rare unicorn. We have lost all other vision. Why don’t you just exclude them (not from minting) but from listing on marketplace? I bet it’d stop and then “rare unicorns” would become rare again. $UPEG
