Do you have #cameratrap detections of mesocarnivores in British Columbia? It's not too late to contribute to the Mesocarnivore Distribution Modeling project, but hurry! wildcams.ca/blog/mesocarni…

An impressive #cameratrap study involving many members of WildCAM, along with hundreds of other camera-trappers from around the world! A nice example of the power of camera trap networks to improve understanding of wildlife responses to people

#NewPaper: Working with a huge team of 220 co-authors representing 102 projects in 21 countries, we analyzed data from 5400 #cameratraps to ask how #wildlife behaviours changed during the COVID-19 “anthropause” nature.com/articles/s4155… ..1/

#CameraTrappingTip As seen in this photo, bears are often drawn to camera traps, and can cause significant damage. Metal lock boxes, however, can be used to prevent damage and theft, thereby maximizing the amount of time your camera is operational!

#Cameratrappingtip Especially in the winter, tracks like this deer print can be useful for informing wildlife camera📸placements. It’s important to document and carefully consider the location of cameras relative to game trails + the overall study design to avoid unintended bias.

#CameraTrappingTip Be sure to remove vegetation in front of your camera! Fast-growing herbaceous plants like this fireweed sway in the wind and can cause tens of thousands of misfire images, threatening your camera’s battery life and causing data management headaches.

Camera trapping tip! When deploying camera traps there are multiple parameters to consider such as the camera height, angle and distance to the targeted wildlife trail. For more information check out: wildcams.ca/site/assets/fi…

Need to set #cameratraps where there are no trees? No problem! @wildco_lab members got creative with some high elevation sets in alpine ecosystems this summer (📷: @cole_burton & Zoe Konanz) Who else has some "unconventional" camera sets to share? 👀
