This year, #WildCareNepal collaborated with Shuklaphanta National Park and other conservation partners including National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC), Nepal, ZSL Nepal, Himalayan Nature through Connect project to conduct a Barasingha survey.

The #Barasingha (Swamp deer) is a #globally_threatened deer species found in Nepal and India. Strongly associated with wetland and grassland ecosystems, it thrives in floodplains, marshes, and tall grass habitats.

We have successfully completed the #WildCatsSeries2026, held from 5–7 May in #BirendranagarSurkhet. A total of 23 participants, including 15 university level students and 7 citizen scientists from different regions attended the series.
