When I graduated high school, I had 2 paths in mind: writing or engineering. I chose engineering. It was the practical choice. It built a good career. Now, I’m returning to the other path. I’ve started writing screenplays — 1st as a hobby, and possibly as a 2nd career.

@ShoreScripts Well, my script did not advance. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed, but it wasn't unexpected nor my main goal. My main goal was to get feedback, and I got good, actionable reader notes that I am using to "shore" up my script. Thank you for that, Shore Scripts!

@QTarantino_ Oof. I, then, have grossly overwritten mine. Several AIs, when fed the script and asked to come up with a detailed budget estimate, were in the $250k range. One described it as more of a mini-feature than a short. (And, no, it's not VFX heavy) Maybe I dream too big?

I honestly don’t think a short film should cost $10,000 to make. I’m no filmmaker so I’d have to hire my cinematographer and sound mixer, but $10,000? Geez. Man…
