Wednesday, Happy World Read Aloud Day: What did you read today? I read the Blue Spruce book, A Sky-Blue Bench by Bahram Rahman about a girl overcoming an injury and solving a problem. For older grades this is an intro to landmines in Afghanistan. #TVDSBLiteracy @TVDSBLiteracy

Time-Hop Tuesday: share something you loved to read when you were young. In grade 1 and 2, I read all the Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, and Bobbsey Twins that my parents could get me. My career aspirations were to be a detective! #TVDSBLiteracy @TVDSBLiteracy

@JenTheLittleOwl @CydoniusIIIRex I read a lot of kids, YA, and adult novels I find publishers are very accurate. My personal adult novels are not appropriate for teens! Kelley Armstrong is one who has books for kids, YA books with some ok for gr7/8 and others only for high school and more adult books.

Motivational Monday: Share a text in your “to be read” pile. Besides all the 2023 Red Maple and Silver Birch I have not yet read! On my nightstand are: Seekers of the Fox book 2 by Kevin Sands, and The Fort and Unplugged both by Gordon Korman. #TVDSBliteracy @TVDSBLiteracy

@IamSabrinaC @esteen11 @blaireerskine I clicked like asthat was the spot I knew she 100% was a comedian -I suspected before but knew the . But you put an eye roll after- you know this is a comedian making fun of the woman in Texas who actually said some of this? She left them watching Old Yeller where dog dies.

This is all the @HaltonDSB has to say for themselves? That there is a dress code for students, not for staff, and that we need to use respectful pronouns? A male teacher is wearing kink gear in front of students to sexually excite himself, and this is the pathetic response...

@RogersHelps No TV :( From reading the comments it seems there are a lot of other people who do not have TV either today. While I expect I will be compensated for No internet or TV on Friday, I also expect it for Saturday with no TV and now tonight it is gone again.

The Durham District School Board has pulled The Great Bear from its libraries, and I’m shocked. We need to be putting more books by Indigenous authors on the shelves, not taking them out. This is an insult to teachers, librarians, and children. thestar.com/news/gta/2022/…

@DaveAlexRoberts Horrible! I read both the books this year and absolutely love them! As a non-Indigenous person I truly felt a connection to the Indigenous culture in Misewa through Morgan and Eli’s eyes. I know at least a few of my kids are voting for The Great Bear to win Silver Birch.
