My own sense is that something weird is happening here: no evidence, no victims … just “shocking allegations.” Did some pink-haired fascist inside UFW just wake up to discover that Cesar hated illegal immigrants? Is this a shakedown by people hoping to leverage AB 218 (the suspension of statute of limitations of sex-assault claims)? Is this a case of Gen Z types running UFW? The possible hypotheses seem infinite. Something doesn’t add up.

We’ve now learned that Dolores Huerta claims to have known about sexual assault inside her United Farm Workers union—and did nothing to protect the victims. The alleged ringleader has been dead 33 years.
