Utan en stark och frisk blomning blir det inga oliver, hur bra resten av året än är. Just nu ser det väldigt lovande ut. Träden mår bra och knopparna utvecklas som de ska. Men det här är också en känslig period. För mycket fukt, regn eller hög luftfuktighet under blomningen kan skapa problem. Blommorna kan skadas, pollineringen försämras och i värsta fall utvecklas svampangrepp som gör att fruktsättningen uteblir. Även kraftiga temperaturväxlingar eller vindar kan störa processen. Det är många steg kvar – från blomning till frukt, till skörd och slutligen till olivolja. Men allt börjar här. Och just nu ser det riktigt bra ut.
