Longtime Olentangy Liberty wrestling head coach Mark Marinelli has submitted his resignation this afternoon in an email to all members of the wrestling program. Patriots were perennial top 10 in the state (D1) and top 3 in the Central district under his stewardship.

When people ask me for my credentials for clinics and they ask me for my HS state titles I cringe. Like I wrestled in college wtf how would hs add to my resume? Like do you want my Tulsa titles too? How about my record at Wildwood duals…

lf there was one single point of emphasis i could get all parents to understand it’s that state titles matter far less now than they did when they were a kid. Parents’ insistence on winning a state title have ruined more careers than they’ve helped.
