There is zero "Good to Firm" in that York ground now, if there ever was. Nearer "Good to Soft".

I still wonder why don’t we have independent assessments of going reports. Some days I scratch my head when I walk round and then read the report

@WilliamsStuart @BHAHorseracing Going reports and unreliability have gone hand in hand for so long. Forty-plus years ago I was having Sunday lunch with a clerk of the course, 250 miles from his track, and when a trainer called about the going, he looked outthe window, saw it was raining and said good to soft!!

This just isn't good enough, Punters & Participants are being let down by the @BHAHorseracing both need accurate information on which they make their decisions

Racing delayed 20mins at Chester so they can cut the grass and add some sand as they have overwatered. The state of this sport.

@WilliamsStuart But the American style stalls are too big to be moved from course to course on UK roads. We only have 30 odd tracks that race on the flat. Mandate them to buy their own - with all their media rights money!!

These stalls are almost identical to the ones used today. It is astonishing that this technology has not advanced in 60yrs

@LingersPunter They did & not for the better. Yes the American style stalls would be a big improvement imo

@WilliamsStuart I thought they changed all the starting stalls in 2004 or thereabouts. Remember Gosden and one of the Easterbys whingeing. Of course, if every track had their own we could have bigger sturdier American style stalls.

@EJXD2 I think you might find that apart from being cylindrical in shape the wheels on a 2026 car would bear very little comparison to the wheels on a 1965 car
