VA’s Patient Experience Week! From April 27 through May 3, honoring VA staff who make the patient experience exceptional. "My Physical Therapist Ryan Cunningham is always thoughtful to listen to my concerns of my injuries and always has a plan to move forward with my progress. The young lady (I don't know her name) at the front check in is always very friendly & polite to all the veterans checking in for PT," said a Veteran patient (anonymous). Patient Experience Week: Army Combat Veteran Stephen Kraft (pictured) shared, "My primary care team Echo has been great. I've been at alot of VA's and this place takes care of you, like they know you personally."

Patient Experience Week: Navy Veteran Martha Purdy shared her experiences with Woman's Health. "I'm happy with my primary care team and Nurse Practitioner Reagan in Woman's Health," said Purdy. "They are always responsive to any issues I bring up."

Patient Experience Week: Wilmington VA Community Living Center patient Navy Veteran Brian Richards said, "The dental team here is wonderful, they have a lift so they are able to take me out of my wheelchair and they explain everything to me." Richards also gave praise to the Emergency Department staff, "ER attended to my needs and I didn't have to fill out a ton of paperwork like other outside ER's."

Patient Experience Week: U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Joe Jennings came in for a same day procedure on April 24th at the Wilmington VA Medical Center. "The medical team explained everything to me and made me feel welcomed," said Jennings. "My experience was good and the procedure went well with no complications.

Wilmington VA hosted a veterans resource and claims clinic event on April 23rd at Salem Community College in Salem New Jersey. Wilmington leadership team members Kim Butler and Kelley Holm were on-hand to give VA updates and answer veteran questions during the town hall portion.

On April 22, the Wilmington VA Medical Center celebrated Earth Day by hosting a variety of environmental activities for Veterans, staff, and visitors. The day’s events were designed to promote sustainability, environmental awareness, and the importance of caring for our planet. Throughout the day, volunteers and VA staff collaborated to clean up trash around the medical center grounds, contributing to a cleaner, healthier environment for all. Participants also planted trees in designated areas, furthering the VA’s commitment to creating a greener community for generations to come.
