At the May edition of our Government House Monthly Prayer Service, I directed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to strictly comply with the Treasury Single Account (TSA) as we continue to strengthen our institutions and grow the State’s Internally Generated Revenue. Our goal is to build a financially stronger and more self-sustaining Akwa Ibom State, with enough internally generated revenue to meet key obligations, including the payment of salaries. I also assured our people that the forthcoming APC primaries will be free and fair, and urged everyone to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly. By the grace of God, we will continue to preserve the peace in our State and keep working for the progress and prosperity of our people.

Great to see the expansion of @ibomairlines and the Victor Attah Int'l Airport. From a vision to a sub-regional hub, this is how you build sustainable economic pillars. Exciting times ahead for the people of Akwa Ibom! Thanks to @_PastorUmoEno for ensuring this actualisation. 🥂

I returned from the maiden international flight from Accra to Uyo with a deep sense of joy at what we have achieved with the Victor Attah International Airport. This will open up more opportunities in tourism, trade, and investment, and make it easier for us to connect with other countries within the sub-region. It also puts Uyo in a strong position to host more conferences and business activities. To give this sector greater focus, I have directed the creation of a standalone Ministry of Aviation and Airport Development, and have appointed Engr. Uwem Ekanem to oversee the ministry pending the appointment of a substantive Commissioner. @ibomairlines will also receive a new Airbus A220 in June as we continue to expand our fleet and strengthen our aviation capacity. I appreciate His Excellency, @officialABAT President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Honourable Minister of Aviation, @fkeyamo Festus Keyamo, SAN, for their support. I also acknowledge past leaders who laid the foundation for this achievement. We will continue to build on this progress and ensure it brings real value to our people.

Kudos to @_PastorUmoEno. 🥂 History made! The maiden Accra-Uyo flight is a massive win for trade, tourism, and regional integration. With a new standalone Ministry of Aviation and more @ibomairlines aircraft on the way, Akwa Ibom is officially the sub-region’s aviation hub.

Today, I boarded a flight from Uyo to Accra with a full heart and a deep sense of gratitude to God. This was no ordinary flight. It was Akwa Ibom’s first international service from the Victor Attah International Airport. A moment our heroes past dreamed of. A moment this administration was privileged to deliver. The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Barr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, said it plainly. What we have built at VAIA is not just a terminal. It is a transit hub. The only one of its kind at any sub-national level in Nigeria. Nothing like it exists anywhere else in this country. This terminal and nine other projects within the airport were delivered with fiscal discipline and the grace of God. We built it clean. Akwa Ibom owes no bank a single kobo for this achievement. We will not stop here. The MRO facility will be completed. The Cargo Terminal foundation will be laid. The Aviation Village will be commissioned. We are building an aviation ecosystem that Akwa Ibomites will be proud of for generations. To His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, thank you for your support and for approving the international status of this airport. To the people of Akwa Ibom, this is for you. This is the Finisher’s Anointing at work. This is what happens when people believe, when a government delivers and when God shows up. Uyo to Accra today. Akwa Ibom to the world tomorrow. Africa, we are ready for you.

Tomorrow, 2nd May 2026, history will be made as Victor Attah International Airport records its first international flight from Uyo to Accra, with a return flight scheduled for the following day. @KufreAfangideh @okon_sir @Nsikanoboh @ibomairlines @_PastorUmoEno Large-scale road projects involve more than just asphalt; there’s earthwork, drainage, and compensation. Rushing leads to potholes in two years. I'd rather have a durable road that lasts decades than a rushed "commissioning" for the sake of a calendar. Please stay patient.

Akwa has wonder infrastructures so the state needs to focus on that strength and start building processing industries while creating some connection to where they can get cheap farm produce. The state can Join Cross River state to build a rail way to northern Cross River up to Benue. Then you can move a step further by getting raw farm produce for refining and processing. These industries will create millions of jobs and also increase the state IGR. This is how developed countries operate. Find a leverage to scale and become more profitable. You don’t need to everything.

@_PastorUmoEno This kind of intervention changes the mindset of farmers in Akwa Ibom State. Farming stops being seen as a struggle and starts being seen as a serious business with tools and support.

Yesterday, I commissioned the Agricultural Equipment Leasing Facility at Ekpri Nsukara, Uyo, as part of the Agricultural Revolution component of our ARISE Agenda. The facility will help farmers move from subsistence farming to mechanised agriculture, making food production easier, faster, and more profitable. Leasing of the equipment will be subsidized by 50 percent to support our farmers. I commend the young professionals who delivered this project with excellence and dedication, and I encourage farmers, cooperatives, and local government councils to make full use of it. Our goal is to increase food production, create wealth, and make food more available and affordable for our people.

@OffishalEmperor @_PastorUmoEno The State doesn't need to own farms. Our people have big farms. Before this facility, hiring a tractor to cultivate just ONE hectare cost N150,000. Now, with a 50% government subsidy, that burden is cut in half. It's good @_PastorUmoEno is directly reducing the cost of farming.

@_PastorUmoEno As long as the state government does not own a farm that needs this equipment, I think spending money to purchase this equipment for leased is a waste of public funds. We can do better Sir .

@_PastorUmoEno Women-led farming cooperatives, rural agricultural groups, first-generation farmers. This scheme does not pick favourites. It serves every hand willing to work the soil. Akwa Ibom is thinking long term.
