Grade 7 readers continue to apply historical thinking to different time periods, guided by local historical artifacts. Thank you @WiltonHistSoc! Looking forward to seeing how these studies influence their thinking in their historical fiction book clubs! #wiltonwayct

Great day working with my students looking at primary sources from @WiltonHistSoc! Students got to look at what their local community looked like during different time periods. It was fun to help them with their abstract thinking! @middleweb @ncte #wiltonwayct

Throughout the 19th century, turkey became a dish heavily associated Thanksgiving. November's #ObjectoftheMonth is this miniature toy turkey which dates to circa 1940. It is a small model of this holiday’s famed mascot before it is cooked and served in all its deliciousness.

English

October’s #ObjectoftheMonth is a 19th century apple roasting oven. Apples would be placed on the top shelf and the drippings would fall into the tray below before pouring out the spout on the side. Visit the Society to learn more about this rare object!

The #ObjectoftheMonth for September is this 1961 edition of Mark: The Community Magazine that explores what Wilton High 10th graders truly thought of their cafeteria food. Unfortunately, they found the meals to be less than desirable. Visit Wilton Historical to learn more!
