the most dangerous lie in AI right now: "AI will replace jobs" no. AI replaces tasks. jobs are bundles of tasks. when you automate 60% of someone's tasks, you don't fire them. you give them the capacity to do work that actually matters. the companies laying people off because "AI" aren't automating. they're cutting costs and using AI as the excuse. there's a difference. second order effect nobody talks about: when AI handles the repetitive work, the remaining human work becomes harder, more creative, more judgment-heavy. the bar goes UP, not down. which means the people who win aren't the ones who learn to "use AI." it's the ones who can do the things AI can't verify about itself. real problem solving. real building. real proof of capability. that's why we built @talentosapp on verified output, not credentials. the future doesn't care what school you went to. it cares what you can actually do when the easy parts are automated away.

We hit 14,000 users at TalentOS. Then I called an all-hands and said we need to slow down.
Not slow down building. Slow down chasing vanity numbers.
14K users means nothing if they sign up, poke around, and leave. What matters is the person who finishes a challenge, gets matched, and messages us saying "I finally got seen for what I can do."
We are rebuilding the verification layer for the labor market. That only works if quality is real. So we are refocusing. Fewer gimmicks. More signal. Every feature now has to answer one question: does this help someone prove what they are capable of?
The hardest founder decision is choosing depth over speed when investors want growth charts going up and to the right.

Before managing others, manage yourself first. Work harder than your team. Have deep expertise in their domain or at least care enough to learn. Set crystal-clear expectations from day one. Don't take people on an emotional ride. Trust but verify. Praise publicly, criticize publicly — focus on behaviors, not personal attacks. Be there for your people. Always raise the bar.
