@WingedWheelPod Of note re: not wanting to pay what Robertson will cost, the sense is that Yzerman is wary of locking up mega $$ in a winger while their top line center issue remains unsolved. DeBrincat is also due a big deal, if Detroit extends him. #LGRW

Further reports that Dallas offered Jason Robertson in a deal, but there's no reason to believe that Robertson would extend long-term in Detroit & Yzerman wouldn't want to pay what he'd be asking for in a contract anyhow. Emphasizes that Yzerman wants "ready now" players. #LGRW

If Dylan Larkin hasn't expanded his list, it's no surprise the process hasn't moved along & the current sentiment from Detroit is "see you at camp." Larkin expanding his list, teams reconsidering their offers, or a 3-team deal are the only things that will get this going. #LGRW

The whole Larkin situation boils down to the fact that, most likely, the only way to come out ahead is to deal him for high-end futures & take your lumps short term. The Atlantic is a thunderdome & Larkin leaving likely buries any short-term hope. Would love to be wrong. #LGRW

Maybe you get a contender to give up slightly younger high-end talent in exchange for solidifying their current window, but it just feels unlikely. The sweet spot ideal/somewhat realistic scenario is something entered around a top C prospect that's more of a sure thing. #LGRW

If there's a trade out there that doesn't make Detroit older + brings in appropriate value for Larkin (ideally at center), then that's great. But it's just such a narrow lane. Generally, the teams that move those guys aren't trading for Larkin. Lots can change, of course. #LGRW
