A lot of hatred for bts in the west stems from the fact that they were meant to be a passing phenomenon, a group people were only obsessed with temporarily and would fade away within a year or two. Instead they solidified their place in popular culture

@TEEPHTREND And these streaming and numbers made them just pay attention to statistics instead of that artist's art or lyrics. MJ told us a lot about his life, media's work, vicious people in the industry..how the toxic media work..but there are still people who easily believe tabloids

“it happens to everyone” except no, because no one else had an entire government trying to hold onto them for political and economic benefit while dangling exemption discourse for years. nobody wanted BTS enlisted separately more than the people benefiting from keeping them apart. and yet BTS still chose to go together, for armys, so they could return together. the maknae line could’ve waited years, but they didn’t. and the second BTS removed every last bit of leverage people had over them, the media campaign went into overdrive: “next BTS”, “BTS is over”, “the hype is dying”. except now they’re back and somehow even bigger than before they left. BTS is the peak. there is no replacing them, and there is no separating BTS from BTS.

🐨 I think I reached the sad conclusion that people dont really listen to lyrics anymore. so if my words reach anyone I hope they’ll listen to this album one more time and truly pay attention to the stories we’re trying to tell personally,that’s still something I quietly hope for

“Normal is a sad song” Yes it is. Rapline’s verses especially broke me the first time I heard them. And the way their verses directly reflect their roles and the mantles they’ve adopted as RM, SUGA and j-hope of BTS. Hobi. The man who has literal hope in his name. Who became the embodiment of hope and light to so many. The one deemed the happy one. The one everyone looks to when they’re down. The man who felt like he couldn’t show show hi struggles and fears and worries because he’s always had to be the positive one. The easy going one. The man who even during times where he was not ok, would smile, square his shoulders and say, yea I’m okay I’m your hope after all. He sings, “How am I supposed to feel? Used to think I was built with a heart made of steel. Now I understand the truth, some pain don’t heal. If everything’s just happy, that ain’t real.” Yoongi. The man who has openly admitted that mundane things like going to the movies are what he cherishes most. The one who cried when he realised how big bts was becoming and what it meant for them. The man who people went after because of his vulnerability. The man who has openly spoken about his mental health struggles. The man who had to compartmentalise his identities to make sense of his journey, his anger, his frustrations. The man who over the years has come to accept that this was what he chose. His normal. What I try to keep never want to stay.” And then— Namjoon. The leader of BTS. The literal front line of his team. The man who has carried all of this for over a decade. I’m crying like a baby after watching this TikTok. When Thomas Mesereau says how he feels like the world trying to make Michael out to be a horrendous criminal had a lot to do with the shortening of his life. Hearing that just gutted me.😭💔

[Part 7] The Platoon Leader role BTS V took on at boot camp: That thing people say you’ll regret doing in the military 👤V-hyungnim was our 1st platoon’s platoon leader. You can basically think of a platoon leader as the leader of the entire platoon. Since they’re the leader of the platoon, they have to be able to keep track of all the personnel in our barracks units 1, 2, and 3 and identify every single person in the platoon. Honestly, they say one of the roles you shouldn't take on in the military camp is the platoon leader position which V hyung did because compared to ordinary soldiers, there’s so much more work to do. Seriously! They have to comfort and take care of the other soldiers, have to lead us along, and basically become a leader. Every morning, since we enlisted during the height of winter season, outside was seriously… wow, maybe minus 10 degrees or something. It was so cold in the mornings. So every morning, V hyungnim would turn around sharply at the front: 🐯Report! 👤Report! Salute! *V hyung accepts the salute* 👤1st Platoon, 3rd Squad, reporting morning roll call. Total personnel 8, present personnel 8. Morning roll call preparation complete! 🐯At ease! Then if he said ‘At ease,’ I’d also snap into the at-ease position, and every morning we’d check attendance like that. V-hyung was really kind. Really kind and also a very positive person. So if the guys perhaps got into any trouble, he would always step in, try to solve by explaining like, "If you do something like so and so, there will be a problem." and guided us in a good direction. He was a genuinely good person. the concept of trying to use bts for clout and extra streams only for the fandom to turn around and open a case file on your entire streaming fraud history…oh, army u will always be iconic.

Correction: BTS is the most awarded asian artist, group & 11th most awarded artist at the American music awards, with 11 wins. Let's stop trying to limit BTS to kpop.
