READ 290 Children’s Literature students and children from Macfeat Laboratory School came together for “Celebrating Authors Day”. Students wrote a children’s book and culminate the assignment by reading to the children, who also bring their writing and illustration samples.

CESHS takes Columbia! Exercise Science’s Richardia Harley and Teacher Education students Ariel Lugo, Emanya Roach and Adriane Alston visited the South Carolina State House in Columbia, along with fellow Winthrop students and alumni to advocate for Winthrop to legislators.

Due to the impact of Hurricane Helene on the western Carolinas, the fall term Outdoor Education backpacking and camping trips were cancelled. To make up for the trip, a small cohort of students enjoyed a make-up day-hike to Crowders Mountain.

Not even a bomb cyclone and power outages could keep our Human Development and Family Studies faculty as they attended the annual National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) Conference in Seattle, Washington.
