@vespid_wasp @SpaceX Calling people retarded while simping for a billionaire burning taxpayer-subsidized fuel for another 'test' that still hasn't delivered orbital refueling or a caught booster after how many attempts? Touch grass, fanboy. Real innovation isn't endless fireworks shows.

@jessijingyicao So we are saying Grok must have far less demand than projected, right? As sounds like they have spare capacity, a LOT of it While other competitors don't seem to have enough thanks to demand

So let me get this right: 1. Anthropic bans xAI from using Claude (to stop them from perhaps distilling Claude for their own model) (...) 2. xAI gives up ~a quarter of its DC capacity for Anthropic to rent and run Claude A win for Anthropic no doubt. What's in it for xAI tho?

Neon didn't need movement nerfs except for her accuracy during sliding and maybe a slight distance nerf on her ultimate so she doesn't snipe people from 100m away. The quick movement mechanics is what made her unique, but people abuse those two things. This fix could've been simple.

@AnderzzTV They needed to adjust her accuracy while sliding, not nerf the movement speed that made her unique. Its the same reason that Jett's accuracy with updraft isn't 100%. I don't know why this isn't an obvious fix.

@penguinVALORANT Why not just nerf her accuracy while sliding and then adjust shotguns? Her movement is super unique and makes skill more of a factor. I'd say her ult needed adjusting but the movement should've stayed. The unlimited accuracy while sliding should have been removed.

so @SpaceX @xai sells its entire Colossus 1 capacity to @anthropic. so does this imply the @cursor_ai deal is dead and @elonmusk has moved on from xAI to make a frontier model? 10b is rounding error for a man playing for trillions. must be some equity behind the scenes here

@o2oo21364 @mark_k Incorrect. Different data centers. Grok is moving to Colossus 2. It is not sharing Colossus 1 with everyone else,

@mark_k not that I agree, but grok is fully unusable for free users now, I know they are training new models so compute restricted but, doing this has just turned a lot of people off, grok is no longer daily driver

Colossus 2 is for internal models (Grok). Colossus 1 is for other companies. Elon now secures control because Anthropic is beholden to xAI for massive computing power. They can’t afford to go backwards. Elon ensures Anthropic continues forward making Claude for the benefit of humanity. He posted they reserve the right to pull compute power if they feel that isn’t being done. Mutually assured benefits. The entire space moves forward and xAI becomes profitable overnight.

WOW this is completely insane. What is Elon's plan here? I thought this compute was for Grok. No more "misanthropic" comments moving forward then , I assume.
Claude@claudeai

We’ve agreed to a partnership with @SpaceX that will substantially increase our compute capacity. This, along with our other recent compute deals, means that we’ve been able to increase our usage limits for Claude Code and the Claude API.

@doodlestein No, because they are moving all their main compute to Colossus 2 for their internal stuff. I’d argue this is even more bullish as Anthropic will be more likely to combine resources to further the entire space.

I’m glad this is happening, but isn’t it pretty bearish for xAI that they don’t need that compute internally? That the highest and best use of the compute is to rent it to another lab? I get it that the deal will be profitable for them, but it must be a gut punch to researchers.

Its simple. Pure business decision. Anthropic was desperate for compute power. Elon wants to ensure these AI models are being made for humanity. Now Anthropic is beholden to xAI because they will NEED the compute power moving forward. 1) This makes xAI profitable overnight. 2) Elon has already said their Grok training is being moved to Colossus 2, so now Colossus 1 makes money for them. 3) Anthropic is now dependent on xAI moving forward. If Elon doesn’t like what they’re doing, he has the power to pull their compute. 4) This will solidify future revenue streams that will continue to propel the company forward, especially after it goes public.

SpaceX/xAI has just announced that it has signed an agreement with Anthropic to provide access to its Colossus 1 supercomputer. "Anthropic plans to use this additional compute to directly improve capacity for Claude Pro and Claude Max subscribers. As part of this agreement, Anthropic also expressed interest in partnering to develop multiple gigawatts of orbital AI compute capacity. The compute required to train and operate the next generation of these systems is outpacing what terrestrial power, land, and cooling can deliver on the timelines that matter. Built from the ground up in record time, Colossus delivers unprecedented scale for AI training, fine-tuning, inference, and high-performance computing workloads. Colossus 1 features over 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs, including dense deployments of H100, H200, and next-generation GB200 accelerators. The cluster delivers extreme parallel performance for large language models, multimodal systems, scientific simulations, and generative AI at frontier scale. SpaceX is the only organization with the launch cadence, mass-to-orbit economics, and constellation operations experience to make orbital compute a near-term engineering program rather than a research concept. If engineering challenges can be overcome, space-based compute offers near-limitless sustainable power with less impact on Earth." I think this is smart for SpaceX/xAI, as it seems to have some excess capacity as Colossus, so why not make a some money on the side by renting that compute capacity out. I think we'll see some more similar partnerships soon.

Understood. Its a genius decision. Anthropic was desperate enough and Elon knew it. Now he has control of them because they can’t go backwards from here. Mutually assured benefits. xAI becomes profitable overnight and shows they can give out compute power and Anthropic lives to see another day. Also gets rid of anyone who could argue that Elon wants it all for himself.

Here’s Anthropic’s new API rate limits for Claude Opus models thx to this new SpaceX partnership Anthropic said they are literally using all the compute capacity at @xAI’s Colossus 1 data center: “This will give us over 300 megawatts of additional capacity to deploy within the month.” Wow.

Its simple in my eyes. Pure business decision. Anthropic becomes dependent on xAI for compute power. They will now build on top of this infrastructure making it a necessity moving forward. Elon now owns Anthropic’s future. He probably doesn’t like Anthropic still, but this puts xAI in the driver seat.

If you bought the S&P in late 2024 betting on 8-10% returns, you're about to lose a decade of your financial life. Billionaire investor Howard Marks on the JP Morgan chart everyone's ignoring: At the end of 2024, the S&P was at a P/E of 23. Historically, every single time the market hits a P/E of 23, the next 10 years returned between 2% and -2% annualized. NO exceptions. What this means: if you invested $100K at the end of 2024, by 2034 you'll have between $82K and $122K. Best case (2% annualized): you barely beat inflation Worst case (-2% annualized): you lose 18% of your money Either way, high-yield savings beats your "aggressive" portfolio This isn't a bearish prediction. It's a historical certainty based on the price you chose to pay. @thesamparr @ShaanVP
