This funding is provided by the Vacancy-to-Vitality and Infrastructure Access Loan Programs, which were created through bipartisan legislation and supported by $525 million—the largest state investment in workforce housing—through the 2023-25 Biennial Budget.

@GovEvers and WHEDA announced over $2.5 million in awards that will support three new housing developments, providing more than 120 new workforce housing units in communities across the state.

This is an excellent example of how expanding access to affordable housing choices helps Wisconsin thrive. By leveraging our collective resources, we are able to invest in communities to create places where people want to live, work, and raise a family.

The WHEDA team traveled to Sheboygan County yesterday with @GovEvers to host a housing roundtable with local elected officials and representatives from Sargento Foods Inc. and @Kohler.

These grants are administered by WHEDA and intended for physical improvements such as rehabilitation, accessibility features, and new construction. There is no minimum grant size, but the maximum grant amount is $50,000.

The WHEDA Foundation, Inc. is kicking off its 40th anniversary with the announcement of the 2025 Housing Grant Program, which will award $2 million to organizations throughout Wisconsin that provide emergency shelter, transitional residences, and extremely low-income housing.
