Wrapping the week that was in Las Vegas. Both divisions of the WPGA Las Vegas Pro-Am featured tight contests, as it came down to the final few holes. Taking home the Diamond Division win was the Whitnall Park GC group of James Grogan, Bruce Duerr, Joe Duerr, Tom Mildren and Jim Carlos. Their 1st, 3rd, and 3rd place finishes in the daily contests helped propel them to a one shot win. In the Hearts Division it was the Bisbee's golf squad with their second win in three years. This year's win featured an impressive come from behind victory from Jeff Bisbee, JB Moseley, Buzz Holland, John Durkin and Jim Hanson. The team came up clutch on day three, including a birdie on their final hole to propel them to the one-shot win. Congratulations to the winning squads and our day three daily victors on their great play. Hearts Results - wiscpga.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/wiscp… Diamond Results - wiscpga.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/wiscp…

Day one of the WPGA Las Vegas Pro-Am wrapped up on Monday afternoon. A beautiful sun splashed day gave the players a great way to kick the week. Setting the pace in the Hearts Division was the Performance Golf Academy team with Michael Grossman. They carded an impressive 24-under-par 120 in the 2 net event at DragonRidge CC. Grossman also led the way in the low pro contest. On the other side of the draw in the Diamond Division it was the Whitnall Park GC team with James Grogan getting the win. They escaped with a one-shot victory by posting a 15-under-par total in the 2 net game at TPC Summerlin. In the low pro contest it was Andy Smith with the "W" with 25 stableford points. A new statewide study conducted by Radius Sports Group on behalf of the Wisconsin Golf Alliance shows golf in Wisconsin generates $6.44 billion in total economic impact, supports 56,595 jobs, and contributes $2 billion in wages, underscoring the industry’s dynamic role in Wisconsin’s economy and communities. The game produced $3.37 billion in direct economic impact and returned $288 million in state and local taxes. Wisconsin’s golf industry surpasses the combined economic contributions of several of the state’s signature sectors - including craft beer, wine, local spirits, and Packers home games - which together generate nearly $5 billion.
