Started the day at Pink Hill Elementary observing our English Learners. The energy was high, the engagement was strong, and the instruction was truly first-rate. Proud of the work happening in our classrooms every day

This afternoon, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction received communication from the U.S. Department of Education that previously frozen federal funding will be released beginning the week of July 28. See my statement below.

We had an incredible time coming together as a leadership team and board to reflect, recharge, and refocus for the upcoming school year. 17 schools united by diversity and community pride. Greatness grows through LCPS.

When it comes to school leadership, being well-liked doesn’t make your actions right and a few people who disapprove of you, doesn’t make your actions wrong. For the sake of the students you are of service to, don’t lose heart. Stay the course! 🎯🎯🎯
