Another reason Flick preferred Adeyemi over Rashford is his work rate. If Raphinha is injured or unavailable, Adeyemi can fill in without compromising the team’s intensity.

I don't know maybe it's only me but i don't rate this Tuchel guy, and I don't think he brings anything to this England team rather than a group of good players playing and fighting for their national with all their heart, and that fighting spirit is what has been keeping them in the tournament so far, I respect their brave and commitment so far i really hope they can send Argentina out of the competition and that would be one of the greatest things they will do for the football world. I will be there 😭

ARGENTINA SEE-OFF SWITZERLAND IN A HARD-FOUGHT VICTORY TO QUALIFY FOR THE SEMI FINALS Switzerland Coach Murat Yakin's regarding the red card, "We were fighting for our lives, and the game was taken away by a decision that didn't belong in a quarter-final. It is difficult to accept when a match is decided not by the players on the pitch, but by a review that punishes a man for a minor action when he was the one being challenged. My players are devastated; they deserved better." | Argentina | Switzerland | | Score | 3 (a.e.t.) | 1 | | Goals | A. Mac Allister (10'), J. Alvarez (112'), L. Martínez (120+1') | D. Ndoye (67') Argentina defeated Switzerland 3–1 (a.e.t.) to move to the semi finals to play england Argentina took an early lead through Mac Allister, but Switzerland leveled in the second half. The match turned on a controversial VAR decision, reducing Switzerland to 10 men, allowing Argentina to dominate extra time with goals from Alvarez and Martínez. The match was tensed and a little physical with Argentina mounted the pressure against a defensively strong Switzerland team Breel Embolo(switzerland),, his simulation led to a second yellow card, leaving his team shorthanded during the critical final stages. In the 72nd minute, Leandro Paredes was initially booked for a challenge on Breel Embolo. A VAR review determined Embolo had dived (simulation), rescinding the foul and issuing Embolo his second yellow card for the dive. This was one of the few instances of the tournament's "mistaken identity" protocol being used to reverse a card decision. Julián Alvarez (Argentina) 112th-minute long-range stunner broke the deadlock and shifted the match momentum. Which won him man of the match Argentina*extended their unbeaten run in the FIFA World Cup to 12 matches. Lionel Messi's nine-game World Cup scoring streak ended, though he assisted the opening goal.

ENGLAND SEE OFF NORWAY TO SEAL ARGENTINA SEMI-FINAL SHOWDOWN. Norway Coach Ståle Solbakken's about the goal and the defeat: "I can sit here and cry, but I don't want to do that. We have done everything we could—the players have been phenomenal... OK, it was bizarre, but it's part of football. We have to accept it." | Goals | A. Schjelderup (36') | J. Bellingham (45+2', 93') | Key Status | Haaland (Neutralized) | Bellingham (Brace) In the 2026 FIFA World Cup Quarterfinal, England defeated Norway 2–1 (a.e.t.). England control possession and structure, successfully neutralizing Erling Haaland, who was held goalless for the first time in the tournament. Jude Bellingham proved the decisive factor, scoring both of England's goals. The first half of the game, England lost balance of the Match, Norway dominated and pressure them till they scored but England came back into the game before the end of first half through Bellingham and he also sealed the victory at the second half of the extra time Despite his high tournament form, Erling Haaland struggled in the heat and was isolated by the English defense, resulting in his substitution late in extra time. There was controversies in the match,,england's equalizer (45+2') was highly disputed. Norway claimed a goal kick struck an overhead camera cable, which should have resulted in a dead-ball stoppage. The referee and VAR officials deemed there was no evidence of contact, allowing the goal to stand. Norway had a 56th-minute goal by Torbjørn Heggem disallowed by VAR for a foul by Haaland in the box. Jude Bellingham won man of the match, he scored the equalizer and the extra-time winner. Jude Bellingham matched elite historical company with his late-stage scoring heroics, helping England reach their third semi-final since 1966.
