@commannand @mothmanpdf @TheDavidVinc Yeah, that's a good point. But it just goes to show that this game doesn't define the quintessential 90s that everyone experienced. It's niche for a certain type of teenager from the 90s.

@mothmanpdf @LegateSprinkles @TheDavidVinc The Cure, and that means they were huge, but that's still only a fraction of the people just in this country. Even 10 million people are a fraction. It's perfectly reasonable for someone to say they don't know who The Cure is (or was in the 90s). The same with Tupac even.

@mothmanpdf @LegateSprinkles @TheDavidVinc That goes back to the point. I looked at the numbers. The Cure sold 1 to 2 million records worldwide with 'Wish', whereas Tupac sold roughly 10 million copies JUST IN THE US with just his greatest hits compilation. He was bigger than them in the 90s. So, millions of people knew..

@mothmanpdf @LegateSprinkles @TheDavidVinc Comparing Tupac to The Cure in the 90s based on modern Spotify listeners paints a false picture. Tupac was much bigger, just in the US, than The Cure was globally. Tupac is more of a household name than the Cure. It's reasonable to say that more people are aware of who Tupac is.

@commannand @mothmanpdf @TheDavidVinc The point is simply that being ignorant of them isn't "something to flaunt", sure, but it's nothing to be ashamed about, nor does it denigrate you as a fan of music from the 90s even if you never heard of them, considering how much good music existed in the 90s.

@LegateSprinkles @mothmanpdf @TheDavidVinc Me too, and I know The Cure, but I was a Hip Hop Head growing up, and I'm sure many who weren't Hip Hop Heads wouldn't recognize relatively big Hip Hop artists from the 90s. There's a ridiculous amount of music in the world, even in the 90s. Even if a million people know the..

@mothmanpdf @TheDavidVinc I've only ever heard of Iggy Pop, and Joy Division sounds familiar. Do you understand how much music there is in the world? Even if a band is known by a million people, there are hundreds of millions of people in the US, and billions around the world, so "extremely well-known"..

Excuses. Just admit it. You need me to stay relevant. You have nothing left. @Acts17David. Christians you don’t see this guy is tapped out. Apart from some weak comedy. This man’s career is done. Who’s next ? Maleek ended David’s career. Or did Sam ? Or did libyano? Or all 3🤣

@DrMaleekk @BruceSaiFun @muslimorthodoxy "A debate on if a Christian can get into bed with Deborah shekels" Dude, you're almost as illiterate as your fake prophet. "Who just hit 100k offered to come to ur stream - YOU RAN" I ran from the guy who backed out of our debate because I'm boycotted? Dude, stop drinking.

@RdLessTrvled @WonEsteeri @Sugarlings @TheresaArueyin1 That's not true at all. Meditation clears your mind regardless of what your intentions are, and having a clear mind helps with a clear heart and discernment. It can heighten your spiritual awareness, but it doesn't leave you "open" to possession.

I used to search everywhere… until I found the truth. Chakras are demonic. Crystals are demonic. Reiki is demonic. Zodiac signs are demonic. Yoga is demonic. New Age practices are demonic. Godless spiritualism is demonic. Praying to the “universe” is demonic. Tarot cards are demonic. All you need is JESUS and the Holy Spirit. If you stand with Jesus alone, drop an AMEN.

@Sugarlings @TheresaArueyin1 "Chakras are just part of your energetic body" I was going to say this, thanks. There are Christians who believe meditation is demonic too. I'm tired of these shallow Christian doctrines.

Uh... I love Jesus. My life is lived around Him and for Him as best I can think to. And demonic stuff is very real. But I've got to object to some of these. Chakras are just part of your energetic body. This is the equivalent of saying internal organs are demonic. They're not. They're made by God like the rest of our bodies. Some people are aware of them some people aren't. Now what "practitioners" do around that could be different, but just having them isn't optional or bad. Crystals are made by God. If you do (let's face it) 'witchy' stuff with it that's different. If you recognize they're made by God and have properties that you'd like to include in your home, just having them around is not demonic or evil. They're just rocks. How is yoga demonic? It's stretching... Once again maybe some practitioners are working evil into it somehow with ancient religion aspects but the yoga most people mean is some stretching exercises and are not demonic. Respectfully, maybe searching in these things to replace God is the demonic part? Tarot cards are demonic though. They're about trying to predict the future and God doesn't like that apparently. No peeking! 🙂

ARE GAMERS GIGACHADS? (🧵) @LizzieMarbach started the latest online brouhaha over whether or not men who play video games are attractive to women. A few quick thoughts on the whole topic. 1- this is clearly an area where there is Christian liberty. You can’t say that it’s a sin to play video games any more than you can say that it’s a sin to watch a movie (though it should be obvious in both cases that some movies and video games would be inherently sinful and that there would be a level of addiction or idolatry that would be sinful, which would be true of any hobby). 2- the question of whether something is attractive is related to the question of whether or not it is good, but it is not identical. For example, there are a lot of feminist women who would not be attracted to patriarchal men. Doesn’t mean that the Biblical structure of the home is wrong. The goal of life is not to maximize attractiveness. That being said, when something is broadly unattractive, it does lead to the question – why? Is this because something is wrong with the culture, or is it because there is something inherent to masculinity or femininity that this contradicts and is therefore unattractive? 3- it is OK and even good to have recreational hobbies. Part of living humbly as mortals is acknowledging that we need time to rest and recover. God even commanded times of rest and celebration for His people. 4- just because we should not institute a legalism that dictates what hobbies people are allowed to have does not mean that we cannot honestly assess hobbies for their inherent worth- or lack thereof. This doesn’t mean that we need to create a hierarchy of hobbies and then pressure everyone to all be interested in whichever hobby comes out on top. We are all different, and that is OK. But we can and should honestly look at our hobbies through the lens of Paul’s lawful/profitable paradigm. Video games, weightlifting, scrolling Instagram, and playing the piano are all lawful hobbies. But are they equally profitable? Subjectively or objectively? It is a question worth considering honestly. (1/3)

In 2021, Spanish athlete Beatriz Flamini entered a cave 230 feet underground and stayed there completely alone for 500 days. She had no sunlight, no clocks, and no direct human contact. The goal was to study what extreme isolation does to the human mind and body when someone is cut off from time. Scientists monitored her from outside the cave, tracking the effects of isolation, darkness, and the loss of a normal sleep cycle. When Flamini finally emerged in April 2023, she was shocked to learn how long she had been underground. She thought only about 160 days had passed.
