Good to have an actual Joiner who quotes and didn’t ghost us. This is the start of a new Staircase going in.

Beefy looking landing, should be ordering the staircases tomorrow.

In more interesting news, it's another Skip day for @WishboneTap today, then the Joiner starts on the staircase on Wednesday... Yay!!!! If someone can tell my back to behave as its got a load of work to do!

@psychomania666 Well so far we have a quote, we are checking building regs and we have a start date. Going to have to rope him into some remedial work to sort some rotted joist ends first.

@WishboneTap If your latest trades people let you down speak to the people about to open the Blustery Barrel in Colne. It's amazing how quickly they've gutted the building and rebuilt everything.

Uncovering things we’ll need to fix as we go, bits of rot on joist ends etc

Pulled some panelling off the ceiling the other day while waiting for the Joiner! Yes, after a bunch of folks backing out or simply Ghosting us we have a Joiner!

Elbow grease, scotchbrite and soapy water, the photos are before and after. Now need something better than this to remove a film of PVA or glue of some kind, it’s possible scrubbing but way too slow.

Hoping some warm soapy water will shift the rest of the plaster off the tiles.

Plaster dust! Uncovering lots of good tiles though.

Grinding plaster skim off the old tiling.

@philh2004 Hahahahahahahahahahaaaaaa do you know any other jokes? 😉 The hard job is getting Joiners to respond and quote. We need a staircase putting in then we will be slowly doing what we can ourselves to try progress things as cash-efficient as possible.
