It's a powerful and impactful story, and we'd love it to reach more people. YenPress and SevenSeas both have been growing their LGBTQ+ libraries over the years, so we'd like to see one of them bring this story over.

Unlike a lot of "gender-benders," this manga has aspects that resonate with a trans experience - Akira is offered the chance to transition back into a boy, struggles to tell her family she wants to remain a girl, and reflects over what "boyish" parts of herself she wants to keep.

While initially reluctant to embrace life as a girl, a budding friendship leads her towards self-reflection, growth, and discovering who she wants to be. She grows towards truly wishing to embrace herself as a girl, yet struggling to tell others about the feelings in her heart.

You may have seen me talk about it before - it's a coming of age story about a misogynistic grade-school boy, Akira, who wakes up one day as a girl. Rejected by both the girls he bullied and the boys who now abuse him, Akira moves away and struggles to adapt to her new gender.
