Check out this work from my colleague at Chalmers where they show 'dissipation dilution' in AlN! Really cool to see that they get high quality factors (>10M) in a piezoelectric material.

Now we have high-Q nanomechanical resonators also in a strong piezoelectric crystalline material: AlN. See here: arxiv.org/abs/2402.12196 Great work by our team in collaboration with the growers from Magdeburg.

WACQT principal investigator Anne L’Huillier is one of this year's recipients of the Nobel Prize in physics. She wins the prize for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter.
