@ankurpandeyIND @LeadingReport I grew up in a single parent household and my mother received food stamps. Soda and candy provide no nutritional value. SNAP benefits should provide nutritional food. Nutrition education should be included with SNAP benefits.

@LeadingReport So instead of tackling poverty or improving nutrition education, these states are policing grocery carts for the poorest Americans. Punishing SNAP recipients for buying soda or candy does nothing to solve hunger,it just adds another layer of control over those already struggling.

BREAKING: Six states—Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, and Utah—will prohibit SNAP purchases of soda, candy, and certain snack foods, beginning in 2026 under approved waivers.

@GeneralMCNews 20 years ago when George W. Bush was president: the REAL ID Act was first announced in July 2004 when the 9/11 Commission recommended establishing federal standards for identification documents. REAL ID Act was passed by the House of on January 20, 2005.
