Great time at #i72 even if it was plagued with personal tech issues and a corrupt windows install on my pc. Some great networking and saw some awesome indi games, met some great charity workers also and bought some luxury keep sakes ☺️

After being made redundant in August and struggling to find a suitable job, I have decided to try self employment as a carpet cleaner. I won't lie, I'm loving it, being my own boss and being my own success. Today I did a landlord clean and breathed life into 15 yr old carpets.

@wannydan How do they look both overcooked and undercooked at the same dam time? and that oil definately needs at least filtering, but I would change it.

@GwenynGruffydd I know you do quite a few short form videos, but I would love to see a long video of you showing how you process from raw unprocessed wax to end product. I have seen so many different ways of doing it, picking up hints and tips from everywhere.

In this weeks video we look at one of the ways you can refine beeswax without needing to use a fine filtering cloth. Eventually you’ll need a cloth to filter it perfectly but I try and use as much equipment as I can first to make the whole job easier. Every beekeeper should own a steam wax melter. The last 100 At long last we are down to the last 100 supers. 😅 Now I’m aware to be still extracting now is crazy and I agree. Combination of reasons why this is the case. Work load (big spike in sales in the run up to Christmas keeping me away from honey extracting). We purchased another bee-farmers business so had more bees to look after (now manage bees across 3 counties) and it’s just me extracting and doing the bee work. Lessons that I’ve learned in 2023. The problem with growing any business is growth is expensive. You can increase your bee numbers then your honey extracting facilities are too small to cope. The work load becomes too big for one beekeeper. And the jarring needs to be done in a different room to the extracting room allowing both to be carried out simultaneously. 2024 will be another year of growth for us, mainly on correcting the above problems and bottlenecks. We will be looking hard on efficiency and where we can make improvements. The down side of this….it will be expensive to do but in the long run will be worth it. I’ve always said, “do the best you can with what you have”. Even if it takes you longer to do. It’s the journey that’s important in life. I'm absolutely appalled at the lack of customer service provided by @salaryfin , they promise to respond within 3 days and heavn't and have taken over 12 days now to deal with a query that was meant to have been dealt with within 3-5 working days and raised over 2 months ago!

The rarest of all honeys. You’ll never find this at any shop. But every beekeeper has some. It goes by a few names. Dregs, skim, froth, left over, bottom of the barrel or my favourite name….beekeepers honey! 😄 Basically when we jar honey we’re left with a small amount of honey at the end of the tank. We run this out into a jar to fully empty the tank before the next batch goes in. Basically it’s the left over honey from multiple batches! This is the honey we enjoy in our house. Nothing goes to waste.😊🐝

Really need to knuckle down with some work today, found my rhythm bopping along to the sweet tones of @StevieNicks and @florencemachine and loving every minute of it. 🎶♥️🎵
