@OhioRacingMedia In my opinion TF & FC racing has never been more competitive than it is today. I was never a fan of the move to 1'000 ft (or at least the description), but if the package results in better racing, less oil downs & most importantly safety, I'll take it 100% of the time over 1320'

I, for one, think side-by-side races being separated by thousandths of a second is highly entertaining and shouldn’t be messed with. There’s certainly things drag racing has to fix and evolve to survive, but one of those things isn’t the distance of the race course.
Kelly Crandall@KellyCrandall

We found out today that 'Big Daddy' Don Garlits has some thoughts on racing to 1000ft: "You little bastard ..." "It's stupid." "So, something has got to be done if we're going ot save the sport."

Congratulations to @Yates_Doug on receiving the Spirit of Ford Award. It is not attached to the base and almost was dropped as Edsel Ford II presented it. (The only time it was actually dropped was by Parnelli Jones I am told at the Detroit Auto Show.) Whew good catch! Huge award and so earned by the great Doug Yates!

I’ve always been a firm believer that you don’t have to be the smartest person in the room as long as you have access to those people MY ADVICE TO YOUNGER RACERS IS THIS: Treat everyone with respect. You never know who’s watching you and thinking about helping you out Keep your friends diverse. You don’t need 7 friends that weld when ur motor is blown up and your dually needs brakes 😂 Keep it a two way street. You can’t keep taking from the pool without contributing to the pool. It will eventually go dry Keep your shit clean. Very few successful people are slobs Make sure you put in the work. The best way to repay people that help you out is by not disappointing them I believe if you follow these steps ur chance of success improves greatly and u will walk around smiling more often than not, no matter what ur trying to accomplish 💯

Here are Garrett Alberson’s full comments on what went down last night between him and Cade Dillard. All included in the story above. Dillard requested not to be recorded on video — so my comments from him are also in the article.

I support my true friends no matter what. “You say u wanna paddle over Niagara Falls???? Personally i think it’s a bad idea but hey, let’s go!” 😂 The car finally has decent attitude but we are still struggling with balance when we put feature fuel load in it. We will figure it out tho. As far as i can tell we are the only team at Knoxville that didn’t order a car and assemble it. We made most of the pieces ourselves. A few weeks ago when we couldn’t get the car to run at the local shows its mainly because we are not deep in spares and financing. Most teams just drop another motor in. Thats ok, we just have to work thru our problems in a different way than a team who just grabs another new piece out of the trailer. Never in my wildest did 12yr old me think i would one day be taking my childhood hero (@1sam91) to the Knoxville Nationals. Ive always tried to work hard at alot of things in life and thats opened up opportunities and new adventures as i go. With that said i would like to thank Al Parker for helping get our ignition stuff lined out. @maytag15 for getting us in touch with Mike Proffit to work out of his shop last week. Jerry Petty for being a solid friend to our team. Tim Woodard @EclipseClaims for taking this journey with us. I met Tim several years back, he came over to borrow some midget parts from me and that has turned into a great friendship. @chromedude1 for keeping our cars chromed out. @ALdriveline for making sure we didn’t have the same issues we had last year. Russell @OutlawwingsOKC for all his help. Bernie @IndyRaceParts for just being Bernie. Michael @SchureBuilt, i think the first midget shocks he built were for me 10yrs ago. It’s amazing to see where he’s at now. Thanks to @DavidSHesmer for his honest sprint car perspective he brings to the deal. Also David Ward at High Performance Lubricants for his unconditional support When u stand back and look at the situation its easy to see why Sammy was so popular this year. The odds simply aren’t in our favor. Im still fortunate i get to do cool things with my best friends tho. Although ive never seeked anyone’s approval for things ive done i will share this. When Sammy passed for 2nd to transfer to the B on Saturday @Paul_Silva57 looked over and smiled at me. That was the cherry on top for me. A tip of the cap from a peer. I took these pictures at the start of the A main. Although i didn’t nail the first few i knew there was an opportunity there if i could just work at it and figure it out. Point is this, if u keep working toward ur vision the results will eventually show 😘🤘🏼

@Dragracemayhem 2/2 on those days, Clay and the car has performed, they just happened to pair up against the best leaver who also made a solid pass. On a few of those losses, Clay had the 2nd or 3rd best RT in the session.

@Dragracemayhem I'm a Clay supporter so I'll throw this in as well (& to be fair, I don't track all the data), but he has lost to Justin a few times due to those holeshots, and often times on those runs, Clay's losing effort in that run would have beat just about every other car in the session.

Since I love tracking stuff like this, I figured I'd give out the data for it since this person posed the question Clay Millican in eliminations has averaged a 4.067 ET ( 1st of 9 full-time cars ) His average reaction time is 0.073 ( 6th of 9 full-time drivers ) #NHRA
JimFL500@mach2rocksavbro

@ClayMillican @YouTube Still leary about all of this. IMO 85-90% of CM not winning races is racecar setup issues & perf. metrics. 10-15% other, reaction time. The 85-90% is not on Clay. The move to get Schumacher on the team seems unusual. Why not instead focus on the crew chief & crew set up?

@D_Elliott123 @HordRaceWatcher @cfchangs9 Thank you. I think that at least helps make a case for anyone arguing the rule. It doesn't mean everyone agrees, but it lines up with what is written. As long as there is consistency, there can be a case made that there is no favoritism shown in a decision.

Port Royal only has “open” or “closed” reds according to their rulebook. Nothing about fuel only. So either race direction went against the rulebook, or the announcer misspoke. Reading this, Macri’s crew could grind tires 🤷🏼‍♂️

@HordRaceWatcher @cfchangs9 @D_Elliott123 I didn't see the race so I'm only going off of what has been posted. Regardless of what the announcer said, did push trucks move all the cars to the work area in turn 4 indicating it was an "open red"? That would clear things up per this section of the attached written statement.

@cfchangs9 @D_Elliott123 Yea Dawson. Pick a side. Do you think Macri won fair and square? Guess what, you hate Pennsylvania! You think Macri broke the rules and should’ve been DQ’d giving the win to Larson? Guess what, you hate Pennsylvania!

@matt_tifft Since you mentioned tacos, VP Race Fuels had The Funky Truckeria bring their food truck to the track one night for their guests. Everything they had was excellent. I think their restaurant is about 45 minutes from the track if you decide to venture out.
