My reaction to everything that has happened, is happening and will happen in the coming days. This country is a TRIP.

@Invaluablemoi The blue Corolla driver with baby snakes on his dashboard. Woman cruising down 3MB with a child at her breasts. Lost in thought sitting on kerb at Yabatech & snapping out of it with a robbery going on just metres in front of me. Walahi I should write.

I didn't like life in Lagos for anything. All through my Law School at Ozumba Mbadiwe, I hardly went out. My friends would beg me to go to the beach with them, but I would stay in my hostel. The only time I went out with my friend to Apogbon market, I got lost. It was the UBA house that was my saving grace. I managed to locate it and got a bike straight to Law School from there. Since then, I never went out until my man came to pick me up when he came home. The very first time I visited way back in College, Bosby my friend said "No go drop for Oshodi o. Then go scrape off your pubic hair. Mile 2 is better" 😂😂 Crazy girl. Life in Lagos is too fast and rowdy for me. I can never live there.

Life is interesting. You grow up in Lagos admiring the city, jumping buses and using cabs, while carrying your dream in your heart as you watch motorists and Lagos hustlers. Sometimes, when I'm driving, I look around and wear a satisfactory smile that I'm driving my car in my city - the city I grew up in. There is a sense of satisfaction because this is home.

@emaxstatman Elkann needs to step back and hand over the reins . He has good intentions but that's not what's needed. If we don't fix that one foundational issue every other next step will bring us back to an outcome similar to this eventually

My take on the season ⚫️⚪️ • Extending Spalletti without achieving any objective may have been a mistake. At Juventus, standards should always remain high. Signaling to the coach and players that top 4 wasn’t essential removed pressure and urgency from the season. • Comolli’s comment a few weeks ago — “We are talking to players who will join Juventus even without UCL” — was a huge indicator of mediocrity creeping into the club’s mentality. • Leadership was painfully weak. Locatelli, as captain, failed to rally the team during difficult moments. Every time things went wrong, there was no reaction, no fight, no visible hope on the pitch. This is arguably the weakest core Juventus has had in years considering our history and values were always built on leaders who truly lived “FinoAllaFine” — not just on social media. • Where do we go from here? Drastic decisions need to be made. Nearly 60% of this squad should be moved on. The coach situation must also be reconsidered, even if it seems unlikely. Appointing a coach close to 70 years old, with little left to prove after over two decades in management and only 4 Serie A trophies, showed a lack of long-term vision. • Spalletti is a great coach, but he is not the man to revolutionize this team. The squad had flaws and lacked personality, but it was still good enough for a strong coach to comfortably finish top 4 ahead of Roma. Juventus need hungry players. Ambitious players. Personalities willing to suffer and fight for greatness — not players motivated only by financial comfort. Elkann and the hierarchy rewarding Comolli with a CEO role within his first 6 months at a club of Juventus’ magnitude and history is also very strange. A man came from Toulouse (with no disrespect intended) and within months was trusted to understand what it takes to lead Juventus? In conclusion: Juventus don’t just need better football. Juventus need their identity back. Now I humbly ask every Juventino… Where do we go from here? ⚪️⚫️ #FinoAllaFine

@DejiAdesogan Maybe. Just maybe. Standing on roads and highways to check and intercept vehicles is the approach they need to reconsider rather than entrench with the right to bear arms?

Between WWI & WWII, Europeans plundered Africa’s resource rich interior to rebuild their own devastated economies In Nigeria, a 100 year war was brutally interrupted by British artillery, opening the interior for colonial extraction & criminal taxation By 1929, fierce feminist pioneers Aba women had attempted to burn down British establishments and force out their colonial administrator. By 1947, Ẹgbá amazon & Lioness of Lisabi, Funmilayo Ransome Kuti had fought the same fight, even closer to Ibadan, at Abeokuta. In between those eras, Bowers Tower was built A century later, #Ibadan people visit this top spot purely for fun & vibes, completely disconnected from the reason it is there in the 1st place. What can we do differently? #history #nigeria #education @Yorubaness @ThinkYoruba_1st @EaYoruba @UNESCO 📚 New post 😀 open.substack.com/pub/ayoadene/p…

@futnostalgico The goal against England, where he dribbles 5 players on his way to goal, gets all the headlines, but he scored an even more impressive one against Belgium a few days later. Almost falling over while beating JM Pfaff. #Mexico86
