Just wanted to update everyone on some changes being made to Motivation Academy
First and foremost, 2XKO tournaments will not be happening anymore. As someone who has been doing online TO’ing for 4 years, I have had to constantly compete with other brackets for the games ive hosted and I don’t feel like doing that anymore. 🙏
Secondly DBFZ NA is being moved from Fridays to Saturdays weekly! I find that more people are free on Saturdays so I will be making that change for DBFZ
Next DBFZ NA bracket will be Saturday April 11th

seeing speculation that the larger seasonal patch will drop with ingrid, which certainly is a possibility, but it'd be such a moronic move to drop the small balance patch right after capcom cup when zero events are happening, and then drop the big one midway through cpt/sfl etc

Honestly, FGs still have a lot of work in cosmetics. Good to see custom UI being more common now but... How about custom intro? Win pose? Custom level 3 animation (same damage and oki)? Custom Hadoken skin?

The Marvel Rivals free to play strategy could honestly work for some fighting games. Big roster at launch, free dlc, consistent updates, and the majority of the profit coming from cosmetics. Obviously it’s a financial risk but if done right it could work

@Kalyx_triaD Traditionally, FGs will have 2 players on screen, while hero shooters will have 10+. That's a huge discrepancy right there.
We need to take ourselves out our bubbles to discuss this, because this is also the reason Battle Hub skins still, somehow, sell well

Genuinely how is this model expected to work when trad FG players typically utilize very little of the cast? This isn't a genre w/roles & universal move sets that requires/encourages flex switching. This really confused me about 2XKO's monetization goals.
