James Harden has now played in 191 playoff games without a championship, which is two behind Karl Malone for the most in NBA history. Those two players are tied for the most playoff wins (98) without a title.

A lot of what I wrote today about his all-defensive snub applies to All-NBA, though the former was indefensible whereas making All-NBA was going to be tougher. torontosun.com/sports/basketb…

@DownToBlack I agree with some of each of your points. My main takeaway, which is long-standing, is that prime Kyle Lowry is one of the most underrated players in NBA history. He was the driver of those teams.

I think it's a fair point Josh is making, and I agree that there is a lot going on with this stuff, but I think NBA voting/awards has a long history of over-representing big markets, therefore underrepresenting players & teams who aren't on national TV in the U.S. all the time.

🧵🪡 Over time frame Josh mentions below, Raps win% is ~100 points higher than Knicks & 7th highest in NBA in that time. Those all-NBA seasons were impossible to ignore. Kawhi should have been 1st team in '19. Lowry only being 3rd team in '16 comical too.

Over the last 10 yrs, the Raptors have produced as many All-NBA seasons as New York (6) & more than 17 teams including Chicago, Miami, Brooklyn, Dallas, San Antonio. Not exactly sure why Barnes isn't getting the credit he deserves but it's not JUST that he plays in Toronto/Canada

Jamal Murray makes his first All-NBA team. Scottie Barnes snubbed. Jalen Johnson didn’t have an overall better year than him imo. Luka and Cade becoming eligible hurt Barnes, Jaylen Brown (second team instead of first) and KAT, amongst others. No LeBron for first time in decades

2025-26 All-NBA teams: First: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, Victor Wembanyama, Luka Doncic, Cade Cunningham Second: Jaylen Brown, Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell Third: Tyrese Maxey, Jamal Murray, Jalen Johnson, Jalen Duren, Chet Holmgren

@Cale8_ On one side of the court, sure. The fact he was useless defensively, whereas Barnes was elite more than makes up the difference to me.

Is Barnes now the most underrated player in the NBA?

@WolstatSun I'm a lot less worried about Barnes defensive awards compared to the $100 being spent on quickly who can't seem to be on the floor when it matters, Ingram's one dimensional game and Yak's back that's now saddled the raps with the worst contract in basketball.

This is a surprise, as MG said, given his 5th place finish. I think the voters got it wrong. Barnes was an absolute beast defensively. In the clutch too and ultra versatile. I voted him first team. Big Derrick White fan, but Barnes topped him defensively this year.
Michael Grange@michaelgrange

Scottie Barnes makes second team all-defense, a little surprising since he was 5th in DPOY voting. I had him 1st team. He joins Kawhi Leonard and OG Anunoby as the only Raptors to make all-defense, all with second team honours.

@Persevere21 Nonsense. We went over this. You misunderstood what I was saying and created your own narrative.

@WolstatSun You weren't too kind towards him at the end of the season. You made it appears as if he was playing to get recognition to get votes. My response to you is reflective of what we saw today. Just imagineAll NBA team where you place most of your arguments towards. He won't sniff it

This is how anyone who watched the Raptors a lot this year feels about the all-defensive results. Barnes had a case as the 3rd best defender in the NBA this season, definitely 4th, no doubt 5th. Versatility and clutch defending should have resulted in more votes.
