17 days til a new season. Let’s welcome our new #17, Joey Tomasso, TFr QB out of Waverly HS in Waverly, NY. Joey shattered school records, was 2X all-state, selected as the 2023 Class C Player of the Year in FB, earned 1st team all-state in MBB, and was captain of the math team!

@SGAndrewLegare I was there. One of the better high school games I’ve seen. If memory serves, Waverly had a 10-point lead in the second half, but Brand dominated the last five or so minutes.

Waverly boys back in state tournament Sunday for first time since 1996. Last time Waverly played in state tourney Wolverines faced Elton Brand, a future Duke and NBA player and current 76ers GM. Brand and Peekskill won, 63-60. He had 32 points, 17 rebounds, 12 blocked shots.

Waverly Boys get the job done at the Arena. They are the 2024 S4 Class-B champs. Glad I got a chance to watch them today. Talented group!
