Have to think Nick Oliver's phone is buzzing as he prepares for a game against Dartmouth on Thursday. Right in line with Oliver, other names I would have on the list to call are RJ Enga, Brett Skinner, and Andy Brandt.

@WooItsDrew @AlexInTheBooth I'd sure hope not. I hope Bob isn't allowed across the river.

@JPAmann @AlexInTheBooth Yeah, I don't think that the AD of SCSU is on a minutes restriction on her phone. Might as well make the call. I'd also be willing to guess that Bob will be contacted just to kick the tires on the gig.

@JPAmann @AlexInTheBooth Raboin would be the clear number one had he not turned down a better job earlier this week. Clearly wants to continue to build Augustana.

@AlexInTheBooth @WooItsDrew As much as I liked RJ, He would not be the right call to take the program where it needs. We need young blood. I think Oliver or Raboin was the only call here. And they have been contacted already. Im willing to bet State has made calls prior to today.

@real_GrantZ That's where I completely agree with you. A change of scenery is best for both sides right now. Instead of waiting for the potential of another couple of down years, Larson took matters into his own hands.

@WooItsDrew That is why I do not like it. I think we need someone to come in with a new direction. Not that Larson was bad, but the past few years have had a lot of adversity and a cultural reset might be good.

@TwinCityHockey Was Motzko not the glamorous hire? He had the number one team in the country at St. Cloud that season. The 2 minutes away from a title is a bit far fetched. Down 4-0 after the second. Had them in the game, which is the accomplishment.

Give the guy a shot. Motzko wasn’t the glamorous hire either, but beside one year I say it was pretty successful. 2 minutes away from a title. This program farms itself well. He will be bringing good assistants aswell.

@real_GrantZ RJ Enga is the safe hire. Keeps the boat rowing the direction that Larson has it. I don't think he's the top candidate, but I'm also not paid to make big time decisions.

A wild thing to see. Got to interview Brett a lot while at SCSU including on his first day as the bench boss. Good for him to get himself a top five job in college hockey. The legend he would be in St. Cloud if Veeti's shot in the first vs UMass was an inch lower...

@AlexInTheBooth 100%. I don't think Brett leaving is a bad thing. The team had back-to-back losing seasons. Attendance is down. A new coach sets things in a new direction. Brett led the team to places SCSU never was before, but a change of scenery is nice for both sides at this point I imagine.

@AlexInTheBooth Oliver was making $190k in 23-24, so you'd have to imagine it doesn't jump above what SCSU head job offers. I also think that if he's worried about advancing his career, the last two coaches got Big Ten HC jobs after being the coach of SCSU.

@WooItsDrew Fair point. I just wonder what the difference in money is from B1G assistant to SCSU head man.

@AlexInTheBooth The no brainer first call has to be Nick Oliver in my mind. Former SCSU assistant, has head coaching experience at Fargo, and now an assistant for a Big Ten School. Maybe you can snag some of their recruits to come to SCSU.

@WooItsDrew Enga makes the most sense to me honestly. Already an assistant there. Hopefully he can salvage some of the inevitable transfers out of the program.

Pelletier's 46th goal of the year for Lincoln. He now sits in a tie for fourth since 2002-03 when the USHL became a Tier 1 league. He is two off of second place and eight back of the lead since that point. It'll be interesting where he finishes for points. Currently, he's in a tie for 25th since 02-03 with 78. Eight points off the top ten where he would move into a tie with Macklin Celebrini's 22-23 season in Chicago.
