The mural is being celebrated in a throw being sold by Mineola Main Street. They are made in America, 100% cotton, color-fast, preshrunk, washable and dryable. They weigh about two pounds and may be purchased at Mineola City Hall or at the Mineola Historical Museum for $75 each.

The mural graces the wall on Line Street. She was assisted by Sam Cook of Longview. The mural was the concept of Annalee Cook, a high school student at the time, and incorporated an element by Braxton Pool, who was in elementary at the time.

Throw depicts downtown mural wood.cm/stories/throw-… The Mineola Main Street Board presented a woven throw of the Mineola mural to artist Lauren Pitre in Monday’s City Council meeting. Pitre, a Mineola High School and UT Tyler art graduate, spent months in 2018 working on it.

Wood County voters have several choices to make in the Saturday, May 1 city council and school board elections. wood.cm/stories/voters… City council terms are two years and school board positions serve for three years. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Hawkins has a school bond election, with two propositions, $9.6 million for school buildings and $2.175 million for athletic facilities. Voting is at Hawkins High School.

Three men are seeking two Mineola school board seats, including incumbent Jay McGough, Robbie Ballard and Douglas Coffman. Daniel Louderman did not seek reelection. wood.cm/stories/voters…
