A real boost for healthcare in East Leeds today! Our local diagnostic centre in Seacroft will get 2 new MRI scanners, 4 extra clinic rooms, and will be able to carry out more blood, lung and heart tests thanks to new government investment in our area.

From my speech to the amazing @UKTogetherAll demonstration. Hatred will not build a single council house. Division will not fund our NHS. Racism will not lower a single energy bill. TOGETHER we will take on Farage’s lies and fight for real solutions to the crisis people face.

Margaret has a KitKat vehicle. But it's not the stolen one. She earned it. She ate a lot of KitKats in the 80s. Wrappers and postal orders bought good things in the 80s.

For years I’ve been proud to back the @WASPI_Campaign Thousands of women in East Leeds have faced pension injustice through no fault of their own. Today’s decision to deny them fair compensation is totally wrong. I'll keep fighting until justice is done. We will not give up.

Happy Friday! Why did I stay up til 1 am trying to put things on the wall?! Join us @BBCRadio3 for Chopin to start, Va Pensiero at 10, after that our listener Peter suggests a song he heard Jools Holland perform: Dark Eyes, a Russian folk tune. Where to?

A remarkable story. Travelling North to @nclcathedral for the so-called ‘Chemist’s Window’, #DivineLight. Dedicated to Joseph Garnet, it may appear unremarkable at first glance, but a remarkable story lies behind it. Garnet, a chemist with a shop on a nearby street called Side, was a devoted member of St Nicholas’s Church (now Newcastle Cathedral). He passed away in 1861, and only after his death did the full extent of his quiet philanthropy become known. Garnet had used his time and resources to help many in need, and in recognition of his selflessness his friends – who had worshipped at St Nicholas’s alongside him – raised funds for a window in his memory. Find out more about the Chemist's Window here ⤵️ englishcathedrals.co.uk/divine-light-t…

Today we'll be sharing some classic Christmas present ideas from the yuletide of your youth. First up, it's the Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate chimney. Load the chimney with chocolates. Put in a 2p coin to release your chocolate. Eat! Repeat! Simple pleasures. Simpler times.
