@DE_Gifford @jikznominee Columbus exists bc Cincinnati and Cleveland wouldn't accept the other being the capitol. It was a pretty much exclusively a govt town for a long time. The City of Columbus is only as large as it is bc it forces the surrounding areas to either join or no services (namely water).

@DE_Gifford @jikznominee But the special issue with Columbus is that our downtown was never really a center of commerce or entertainment? The city council only decided they wanted to maybe me like a real city a little under 30 years ago instead of being a college campus and a place for state senators.

@jikznominee That's what happens when you tear down housing for highways & build sprawl around a city. Downtowns used to be centers for commerce, offices, shopping & entertainment but also where people lived.
