@AndyBeard It's also important to note that context matters. The Google AdSense best practices you noted make sense where ads are displayed on the page. That's because ads (3rd party resources) will have access to the URL in the referrer HTTP header.

@AndyBeard Now that we're both clear, we think this is a healthy debate. Including the email address in the URL of a web application that is not loading any 3rd-party iframes is as safe as displaying PIIs on a secure web page. In both cases, the data will be encrypted during transfer.

One of the hardest GDPR contamination problems to clean up is when analytics and other 3rd party vendors get contaminated with personal information (PI) So of course @Woopra think it is such a good idea they added a feature to encourage including emails in URLs.

@andrewchen Somewhat what I use @woopra for. No machine learning to perform linear regressions that produce that kind of insights yet, those have to be done manually on my end.

who's working on multi-touch attribution for Churn? It could work like this: Hook up all of your analytics events, import your customer data, plug in your email systems, etc., etc. Then it uses machine learning to figure out what are the bad chain of events leading to churn
