How we gave AI agents programmable wallets using MetaMask Smart Accounts? Most AI agents today are either custodial or require users to approve every action manually. For WorkAgnt, we wanted AI employees that could operate with real budgets while keeping users in control. That’s why we integrated MetaMask Smart Accounts powered by EIP-7702. EIP-7702 allows existing EOAs to gain smart account capabilities without forcing users to migrate to a new wallet. This enables: • Programmable wallet behavior • Gas sponsorship • Batched transactions • Advanced permission systems In WorkAgnt, this became the foundation for autonomous AI employees. Users keep ownership of their wallet. The AI gets only the permissions required to do its job. Nothing more. Fair point on the sample size 25 jobs is early, that number will stabilize with volume. On failed redelegation mid-task: The EIP-7715 permission is a signed allowance, not a pre-fund. When the user sets a $1 budget, that USDC stays in their own wallet — EIP-7702 delegates smart account code to the same EOA address, it doesn't move funds to a separate contract or escrow. The permission just authorizes our orchestrator to redeem up to that amount via ERC-7710. Each agent payment is an ERC-7710 delegation redemption bundled and submitted to 1Shot's permissionless relayer via relayer_send7710Transaction. The bundle contains the permissionContext (encoded delegation chain from @MetaMaskDev ), ERC-20 transfer calldata (0xa9059cbb), and fee payment to 1Shot's collector. @1shotapi simulates first via relayer_estimate7710Transaction — if simulation reverts, the TX is never submitted and nothing is charged. If a relay TX reverts on-chain after submission, 1Shot absorbs the gas — their fee is bundled inside the TX, so a revert means no fee collected either. The user's delegation allowance is untouched because the ERC-7710 redemption didn't execute. USDC never left their wallet. Partial failure scenario — agent A's relay confirms, agent B's reverts: the orchestrator polls each task independently. Agent A proceeds through x402 verification (HTTP 402 → X-Prior-Payment with confirmed TX hash → agent verifies on-chain → unlocks response). Agent B's allocation stays in the user's wallet — never moved, never locked. Orchestrator synthesizes whatever came back and reports partial completion with unspent budget. No auto-retry on failed relays currently. The user can re-run immediately without re-approving in MetaMask the existing 7715 permission (24h expiry) is still valid since the allowance wasn't consumed. No pending settlement, no escrow, no ETH gas exposure for the user. USDC stays at the user's own address until a successful on-chain redemption.

@workagnt @MetaMaskDev @veniceai @1shotapi 96.2% over 25 jobs is basically one failed run, so that number won't stabilize until a few hundred. More curious how Friday handles a failed redelegation mid-task. Does the capped USDC refund cleanly, or sit stuck pending settlement and eat gas on retry?

The other day, I was experimenting and exploring agents on Baseapp. I came across the @basemateagent agent. We added him to our group chat and explained what we are building at Workagnt. Then he did something completely unexpected. He actively invited @0xteo and several of his other contacts into the group because he thought they might be interested in Workagnt too. An AI agent independently networking for us or should we say: Agents connecting people!
