“Abecedarian poems allow me to dig at the very roots of the English language. It’s why I love books [. . .] that allow me to more deeply discover and use the materialist history of the English language in my writing.” —Mark Nowak #AboutThisPoem poets.org/poem/again-0

When I was a kid older people still called this museum "The Albright" rather than the Albright-Knox. Well now it's my turn. Pilot Field will always be Pilot Field, Rich Stadium will always be Rich Stadium, and the Albright-Knox will always be the Albright-Knox, not "the AKG."

“These poems are at once traces and interpretations of these events, ambiguously; as both a part of this history and a belated representation of it, this writing layers time and refracts its violence.” David Sherman reads "When the Smoke Cleared." lareviewofbooks.org/article/lyric-…

There are songs that made me feel sad as a little kid when I heard them even though I had no real idea why. Wichita Lineman by Glenn Campbell is one. This, from Gordon Lightfoot is another. RIP youtu.be/w-6if333Lak
